Chelsea thrashed Everton go top on the table
Chelsea thrashed Everton 5-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening, to go top of the Premier League for at least 24 hours.
The Blues, who have been in rampant form since they lost 3-0 to Arsenal in September, scored in the 15th minute through Eden Hazard. The Belgian forward cut in from the left and fired in.
One minute later, Marcos Alonso doubled Chelsea’s lead, arriving on time to drill the ball past Maarten Stekelenburg. Antonio Conte’s men took a three-goal lead into the dressing room, after Diego Costa found space inside the box.
They scored twice again in the second half, through Hazard and Pedro Rodriguez.
Manchester City reliquinshed their position at the top, after they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Middlesbrough.
In other matches, Sunderland defeated Bournemouth 2-1, West Ham drew 1-1 with Stoke City and Burnley beat Crystal Palace 3-2.
