Ogbe-Ijoh youth release kidnapped Aladja indigene in Delta State

A 30-year-old Aladja indigene in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Ochuko Efenarua who was allegedly brutalized and held hostage by some youths from Ogbe-Ijoh on Sunday, November 20 has been released, ALEXLUCKYNEWS is reporting.

ALEXLUCKYNEWS gathered that Ochuko Efenarua was released by the Ogbe-Ijoh youths at about 9pm on Tuesday after appeals by some Ogbe-Ijoh leaders to a militant group allegedly led by one Edikoro at Bernett Island also known as NUPENG Camp.

The father of two who was in pains when our Correspondent visited him at an undisclosed hospital where he is currently receiving treatment could not speak as a result of the injuries he sustained.

Our reporter gathered that Ochuko Efenarua was accosted by the Ogbe-Ijoh youths at the River banks of Aladja on the said date and has since been held hostage with a threat to kill him before the Ogbe-Ijoh leaders intervened.

The matter was quickly reported by the Aladja community at the Ovwian/Aladja Police Divisional Headquarters and the office of the Department of State Security, DSS in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.

When contacted for comments on the matter, the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Dike Albert Uchechi was seen mobilizing his men and rushing to troubled Kotokoto community to quell an ngoing crisis but a police source who craved anonymity confirmed the report saying, “the matter is a serious one but we will try our best to bring it under control. You can see the DPO is rushing out to Kotokoto community where we have crisis to make peace and order.”
